Description
The TriBell hot rod beater is the result of a collaboration between Stevie Moises and Matthew Bell, a US percussionist and bodhrán player. Matthew’s aim in this design was an improved grip, achieved by a combination of cross section shaping and grip design.
The unique feature of the Tri-Bell hot rod is its triangular cross section, achieved by arranging 9 x 3mm dowels around a 6mm triangular centre rod, all made of beech. Each rod is individually rounded and sanded to a fine finish, and the bundle is held by a shrink grip with a surface of pronounced horizontal ribs. Two O-rings allow you to adjust the mobility and clicki-ness of the rods, and of course roll down the O-rings to protect the rod bundle when not in use. At 26 cm it is one of the longest tippers in our collection, but it is slender and quite light and agile at just 23 grams weight.
