Description

Snakewood is one of the most expensive and valuable woods in the world, and also one of the densest and heaviest, making it ideal for drum beaters, particularly for the more long and slender traditional style tippers which Stevie Moises makes.

The SW 1 combines slenderness, light weight and the shortest length of the Snakewood range.  At a diameter of just 8mm, this is a straight stick of 24 cm and just 16 grams.  As a straight stick made of a dense wood, it will give you a crisp and powerful sound, but being slender and light it is ideal for rapid playing and a precise attack.  The ends are just slightly rounded.

The beautiful markings of this wood mean every tipper is unique – see the three different tippers in our photos!  The finish is silky smooth, with a natural wax finish to bring up the full beauty of this wood.  Stevie guarantees the quality of his snakewood tippers, to have an even surface with no cracks or splits and beautiful markings.  On his own site, Stevie says
