At last we are pleased to draw your attention to the new features on the BODdrums site.
New On Line Shop
The most obvious of course, is that we now have a proper on line store, so you can just click and buy. We aim to get packages sent out within the next business day or two.
If you shop by maker, you will be taken to a page with a summary of product categories and an introduction to each of our products’ makers – John Blackwell, the designer and maker of the unique aluminium BODdrums (and proprietor of this website and shop), Cormac Byrne for whom we make the Talking Bodhrán, wooden bodhrán maker Christian Hedwitschak and beater maker Stevie Moises.
If you shop by product, you will find a discussion of the different product lines to help guide your browsing – how to choose amongst our drums, beaters, and cases. And if you are interested in customising your BODdrum, learn more about your options on the Custom Finishing page.
We are excited to offer some new products in our Accessories shop, including the HEDstrap for taking the weight of the drum when standing to play, and some CDs which feature inspiring bodhrán playing from Cormac Byrne, Evan Carson and Mog.
Same Great Service
Not ready to just click and buy? If you have any questions or would like help figuring out which of our products will meet your needs, we are still providing the same advisory service through our contact page! By all means get in touch with your questions and we will do our best to help.
Remember too, we are based in Cambridgeshire, near Ely and Newmarket, and are happy to welcome you to our workshop so you can try out the drums and see the products yourself. Contact us to set up an appointment.
Important News About Prices
As we are all painfully aware, the global Covid pandemic and all the ensuing chaos of interrupted production, supply chain and delivery services has driven up prices on goods, but also on many of the base commodities of which our products are made.
We can hold prices on current stock a little longer, but effective 1st March 2022 there will be price increases. If you have had your eye on a drum or a fistful of new beaters, move quickly, as these will be most affected. We will share more information about the price increases later this month.
More BODdrums News
In off-line news, we are looking forward to the festival season this year, and hoping it won’t be disrupted again by Covid concerns or the family health issues that upset our plans the past two summers. We are confirmed for the Ely and Warwick Folk Festivals in July and Folk East in August and awaiting confirmation of other possible venues. Our Friends page always has dates and current information about our favourite festivals.
We are also looking into hosting some bodhrán workshops later this year or in 2023. Keep up with us on this blog and over on Facebook for news. You may also want to sign up for our Newsletter (see right hand margin for sign up) which we will be launching in the next few months.
