BOD At Folk East 15 – 17 August

by | Aug 11, 2025 | Events

We are excited to be returning to Folk East again this year, 15 to 17 August at their new location at the Sotterly Estate near Beccles, in Suffolk.

If you are going to Folk East, be sure to read their advice about travel – see this page on their site.  The estate is located in an area of single track roads, which will be carefully signposted to keep traffic flowing smoothly in one direction.  Do NOT rely on your SatNav, follow the signs.  Better yet, take the train, details about train travel are also on the linked page.

We are due to receive today an immense re-stock of Christian Hedwitschak drums, tippers and accessories, all of which will come with us to Folk East, along with the entire stock of our own rather fabulous BODdrums and the wonderful Renegade Rhythms drums from Mog.

For this reason, we will close the on-line shop Monday night, 11th August, making last shipments Tuesday morning before packing up.  The on-line shop will re-open on the 20th.

So come find us at Folk East where you can try all the drums and tippers, and enjoy one of the best truly Folk dedicated festivals still running.

And if you’ve seen the Folk East home page, who is that handsome man with the Harlequin bodhrán on his knee in the feature photo for “Around the Festival”? Yes, it’s John Blackwell, together with Chris Partington, colleague and melodian player in the Catch the Pigeon Ceilidh Band, having a craic after a session in the Instrument Makers Village last summer.
